3. Assemble the Change Team
Task
Who is on the Change Team? Executive Sponsor: This is the member who elects or endorses the change project. They will make time to meet with the Change Leader for project updates, and has the necessary authority to remove barriers for the Change Team. Change Leader: The selected Change Leader should adhere to the guidelines of Powerful = Competent + Respected (NIATx Principle #3). The Change Leader will engage and facilitate staff in the change process, keep the Executive Sponsor informed, and should be passionate for the work (i.e., the Change Team: The rest of the Change Team should consist of 3-7 stakeholders who work in the process. The team should identify a data coordinator (data collection/monitoring), brainstorm changes – run small scale tests to see if they result in an improvement (PDSA cycles), and once project aim has been achieved and a sustainability plan in place, the project |
